Alba The Roman name for Scotland
Bejant A first year male student, from the French "bec jaune" meaning yellow beak or fledgling.
Bejantine A first year female student. See Bejant.
Culdees Meaning "Companions of God", they were a Celtic speaking group of non-celibate clergy. Loosely allied with Rome, they seem to date from the early 9th century.
Gowf Vernacular Scots for "Golf"
